March 2, 2004: Christina is fine... someone backed into her while she was driving her new car through a parking lot. Her car was undriveable. A couple of days later she was hit again, this time driving a rental PT Cruiser! Neither accident was judged to be her fault. Her car came back yesterday and looks fine.
Thursday, February 5: Lola and Fred are off
to The Big Easy for a few days. Our dear friend, Christine Gormley, picked us up at New
Orleans International Airport and was our hostess for the visit. We picked up dinner at Foodie's Kitchen.
Friday - Lola and Fred went to French Quarter and had coffee and beignets at Cafe Dumonde. Strolled
around French market. Lunch was a muffaletta and Dixie Beer from the Central
Grocery . Christine drove us to Mobile, Alabama for a Mardi Gras parade by the Conde
Cavaliers . Then we dined at Felix's Fish
Camp. It was a wonderful meal with superb service.
Saturday - Visited thrift stores and flea markets on our way to Foley, Alabama, where we had lunch at Lambert's, a family restaurant where the hot rolls are throwed to you. We drove back to New Orleans.
Sunday - We bought huge fresh shrimp from The Shrimp Lady for our Monday dinner. We caught the initial 2004 Mardi Gras parade of New Orleans, featuring the Lil Rascals; a kids parade. Had hot boiled crawfish for lunch. We had dinner at the Tricou House on Bourbon Street.
Monday - Fred and Lola strolled the French Quarter, took the trolley to Commander's Palace for a 25th anniversary lunch and then took a walking tour of the Garden District. Christine prepared the shrimp for dinner. Scrumptious!
